Indigenous Resources - Background, Policy, Analysis: National Film Board/NFB

This guide is an introduction to some of the books, articles, and online resources available to you.

Accessing NFB materials

New in June 2016: NFB CAMPUS titles and freely available titles (a streaming video collection) have been added to the BU Library Catalog. These items will appear in search results if your terms match one of their records. There are several options for searching for these items specifically, including:

-search "NFB streaming video collection" - this will return the entire BU collection

-NFB streaming video collection CAMPUS - this will return items in the CAMPUS collection (our subscription)

-search your topic and add streaming video to the search:  poitras streaming video

-search whatever your topic is - for example,

  • Bill Reid
  • residential schools
  • biography women artists

and either look for the Video in the results, or limit on the left side of the results to Refine My Results/Audio Visual.

If you want to connect to the NFB site itself and view THEIR collection - do this:

Access the StudentShare Drive (the 'S' drive)
Find and select the entry for Library in the alphabetized list
Click on the entry for Campus-NFB
Open the word document Welcome_to_CAMPUS
