American Resistance: Organizing Groups

This guide is intended to identify building resistance to the Trump regime in the United States. It lists groups, leaders, protests. It can serve as a marker of important initiatives that will be of historical relevance.

Organizers of Resistance

Many groups have sprung up to help citizens oppose the Trump regime.  Many of these sites provide information about protests, live-streaming, conflict de-escalation, protest maps, possible signs, contacts for Members of Congress, postcarding, and how to attend a live-streamed event.  

  • 50501 
    Standing for 50 Protests in 50 States under One Movement, 50501 reportedly emerged via Reddit and started mobilizing protests as early as February 2025.  
     
  • Indivisible
    This important organization lists actions and resources for citizens wanting to oppose the Trump Regime.  Uses Mobilize Us to identify events, locations, etc.  Upcoming Event includes No Kings on June 14th
     
  • No Kings
    A widely coordinated alliance of groups ; No Kingscreates a United front of protests.  Information about events such as the June 14th No Kings Protests can be located via various sites like Indivisible and 50501.  These include a map of protest locations and by dates.  
     
  • Hands Off
    Hands off is a coordinated effort amongst multiple groups to rally opposition and protests.  Its first coordinated protest on April 5th consisted of over five million Americans.  
     
  • The Pact: A Civil Rights Coalition Unity Commitment
    Coalition of nonpartisan, nonprofit, civil rights organizations representing millions of people of every background in every zip code across America. They pledge:
    • When any of our organizations are unjustly targeted, we will stand as a unified coalition. An attack on one is an attack on all.
    • We will share knowledge, resources, and support with any organization threatened by abuses of power.
    • We will not abandon our missions or self-censor out of fear.
       
  • We the People Dissent
    Boycotts, strikes, protests, and phone calls— This organization  is designed to make our voices heard.  We the People Dissent, gathers and publish lists of ways everyday Americans can stand together.  It also provides an excellent Google Map of protests. 
     
  • Town Halls
    Early on at least one person, Beto O’Rourke, called on voters everywhere to demand their representatives hold Town Halls and answer voters questions.  Soon after, many emerged in Republican districts.  When Republican Representatives faced hostile crowds their leadership asked them to hold no more.  Since then Beto O’Rourke and other non-Republicans, have been holding town halls in Republican districts to ensure their voices can be heard.  Indivisible provides citizens with information to hold representatives accountable during congressional recesses. 
     
  • Run for Something
    Because of the malaise in Washington and the need to restore sanity to local politics, Run for Something - recognizing the peril many elected officials are facing - calls on citizens to run for anything from School boards to City Government , State Government and Federal Government.
     
  • Rebellion PAC
    Rebellion PAC is building a movement to remove ineffective Democrats from Congress and replace them with people willing to stand against Trump and MAGA. 
     
  • General Strike US   
    Building  an interconnected groundswell of people who are committed to The General Strike.  They are “ reaching out to organizations and influential individuals who are already taking action for racial, economic, and climate justice and plugging them into the network.”  As part of this many organizations are also calling for an economic boycott (to effectively shut down the economy) and for citizens to provide aid and assistance to those in need because of the economic shutdown.  
     
  • WorkerOrganizing.org 
    Provides workers with information about workplace organizing.
     
  • Unions
    Understanding the threats to collective bargaining and workers rights, unions are working together with civic groups to protect democracy under Trump.
     
  • MoveOn.org
    As an organization that pre-dates 2025,  Moveon.org rallies citizens to advance progressive values and advocate for the less powerful. 
     
  • Tesla Takedowns
    This movement s in opposition to DOGE and protests at Tesla Dealerships and conducts an economic boycott.  In the January-March 2025 quarter,  Tesla sales are down 71% as a result. 
     
  • Other Economic Boycotts
     
  • Canadian Boycotting  of American products and produce
    This is occurring in reaction to Trump’s threats against Canadian Sovereignty.  Participating stores have indicated what products are Canadian.  Liquor stores have removed alcohol produced in Red States.
