Interlibrary Loans: Using Your Account

Brandon University students, faculty, and staff are eligible for an interlibrary loan account. The Interlibrary Loan system requires a different password than the one associated with your BU network credentials. 

New students, staff, and faculty members, and new interlibrary loan users:

  • Please contact Interlibrary Loans by email at ill@brandonu.ca to request an account. Your username and password for Interlibrary Loans will be sent to you by email once your account has been activated.
  •  You will need to provide the following information:
    • Your first name
    • Your last name
    • Your student number
    • Your BU network username

Once you log into your account, you can:

  • Submit requests
  • Check on the status of your requests
  • Request renewals on loans
  • View your request history
  • Change your password
  • Contact Library Staff

Forgot your password?

  • If you know your username and your BU email address, you can use "Forgot your password?" to reset it. Once you have entered the required information, a temporary password will be sent to you by email. To avoid errors, it is easiest to copy and paste the temporary password you receive in the email when you are logging into Interlibrary Loans for the first time following the password reset. You are encouraged to change your password to one that is more memorable for you once you have successfully logged into system.
  • If you have ever changed the email address associated with your Interlibrary Loan account and you can no longer remember which one you used, you will have to contact Interlibrary Loans by email at ill@brandonu.ca  to have your login information reset. Interlibrary Loan staff will respond to request for password resets as soon as possible during regular business hours.
  • NOTE: the login for Interlibrary Loans is case sensitive. Students must enter their usernames in UPPERCASE. Faculty and staff must enter their usernames in LOWERCASE.
