Government Documents are official publications put out by Federal, Provincial and International Governments. They can include Reports, official transcripts of Debates within Parliament (etc), Statistical Data, Laws & Regulations, Treatises, and other information.
As Debates, Laws & Regulations, and Legal Information put out by governments play an important role in Political Science, each of these types of records has been assigned a section in this library guide where you can find more information about each type of document as well as links to them. Other relevant Government Sites and Documents are listed in the box below.
For an extensive listing of Government Publications, please consult the library's Government Documents Libguide. It provides a rich listing of Government Resources of relevance to Public Discourse and Government in Canada.
Another excellent Government Documents Resource is the Library Catalog. It can be searched and will indicate if a Government Document is in Hardcover or Electronic Format. All Electronic Government Publications contain hypertext links so you can easily locate these online government publications by doing One Search on the Library Catalog.
