Indigenous Resources - Background, Policy, Analysis: National Film Board/NFB

This guide is an introduction to some of the books, articles, and online resources available to you.

Accessing NFB videos

National Film Board titles that are streamed online are no longer listed in the Brandon University Library catalogue. (Physical copies of NFB titles in both videocassette and DVD format are still listed in the Library catalogue)

To search for streaming video titles, go to the National Film Board of Canada site. The first time you go there, you need to create an account.  You will need to follow the instructions below to do this. If you simply create a free account at the NFB site, you will not have access to the Campus Collection, to which BU subscribes.

To create an account - do this:

  • Log in to your Moodle account with your BU username (not email) and password:
  • Under "Course Categories" choose Library
  • Scroll to "Licensed Library Resources" - select Click to Enter this Course
  • Open the PDF document named "Welcome to CAMPUS NFB 2023: instructions for access" and follow the instructions for creating your NFB account.

Once you have set up your NFB account, you are all set to go to the NFB, sign in, and access streaming videos.

Other BU Library Guides have information about videos - including information about using videos and other options for locating videos. Here is a sample, along with a link to the BU Databases for videos page.
