Additional resources for you to explore on these displays that go beyond the books included.
The virtual displays for May are Asian Heritage Month, Huntington's Disease Awareness Month, International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination, and Spring in Full Swing.
The following sections have a variety of topics regarding both displays. Physical displays can also be found by the main circulation desk in the John E. Robbins Library.
Beginning in 2002, this month commemorates the contributions that people of Asian descent made to make Canada into the country it is today. It celebrates their achievements and their heritage. Their culture and creative works. Their music and their religion. Please join in the commemoration by taking some time to learn a little more.
This health month is dedicated to raising awareness for and research on Huntington's Disease (HD). The gene for HD was discovered in 1993, and no treatment or cure has been developed for HD yet. This display covers HD and related topics such as genetic testing, living with chronic diseases, neurodegeneration, and neuroscience.
Held May 17th annually, IDAHOBIT coordinates events to raise awareness and knowledge of LGBTQIA+ rights, discrimination, and movements. It continues to grow annually as it advances rights for people with diverse genders, orientations, and sex characteristics.
Spring is in full swing, so here are some books to celebrate a season of life and warmth after a long Winter. This display includes books on frogs, gardening, and mushrooms. Have fun and enjoy your Spring!
